It is actualy an "indepenant" film some friends of mine made a couple of years ago, It is in black & white, so there is no "blood and gore" during the eating of the glass parts nor the surgery which takes place at the now famous "itlalian veterinarian, Lucio Frascatti!" practice and the film required many takes to get all the dogs( there were 6 trained dogs) to run together and bark in the proper order.
The old man was played by Donald Macklin, and older gentleman who was a homeless drifetr who fed the ducks in the park everyday they made the film, died on the set in his sleep. That is a bit of trivia, so if you like to I can send the film to you Boni as a present for your troubles with bananas and also include footage of the casting and dressing of Neil's doll.
