Jimmie,
I couldn't help but notice your comments about Luby's. Jimmie, have you visited Luby's lately? Perhaps your impressions of us might change. We have added 12 new menu items in the last year, and customers just love them! I would be happy to send you a coupon for 20% off of a dinner for two at any Luby's location. I am confident that if you give Luby's another try, you will find us to be superior to any other family-style restaurant you may have visited in the past.
Thanks for your support of Luby's, and of Boni's Message Board, one of my very favorites of the hundreds I contribute to.

now i enjoy taco bell as much as the next food-lover, but this made me sad when it happened. youtube.com/watch?v=su0U37w2twsand denny's, those guys are troublemakers! from days of old, here are these classic tales! CONTROVERSY! ------ (from wikipedia) During the early 1990s, Denny's was involved in a series of discrimination lawsuits involving several cases of servers denying or providing inferior service to minorities, especially African American customers. [1] These are some of the most notable incidents involving racial discrimination at Denny's: In San Jose, California, several black teenagers were refused service unless they agreed to pay in advance (Smith, 1996). This was the first recorded incident of such events. [2][3] Six Asian-American students of Syracuse University visited a local Denny’s restaurant late at night. They waited over 30 minutes as their white patrons were regularly served, seated, and offered more helpings. They began to complain to management and to their server regarding the situation. They were then forced to leave the establishment by two security guards (called upon by Denny’s management). Then, according to the students, a group of white men came out of Denny's and attacked the group,[4] shouting racial epithets. Several of the students were beaten into unconsciousness.[5][6][7]. Six African-American Secret Service agents visited a Denny’s restaurant in Annapolis, Maryland. They were forced to wait an hour for service while their white companions were seated immediately upon entering (Guillermo, 1997)[8]. An African-American Denny’s customer was told that he and his friends had to pay up front at the counter upon ordering their meals. When he questioned the waitress: “We asked the waitress about it and she said some black guys had been in earlier who made a scene and walked out without paying their bill. So the manager now wanted all blacks to pay up front” (Ferraro, 1995)[9]. In 1994, Denny's settled a class action lawsuit filed by thousands of black customers who had been refused service, forced to wait longer, or pay more than white customers. The $54.4 million settlement was the largest and broadest under Federal public-accommodations laws established 30 years ago to end segregation in restaurants and public spaces. [10]

Jim,
That's interesting about Denny's. I guess it's just one more reason I wouldn't go there. Jim, have you been to Luby's? I can tell you'd really like our food and atmosphere a lot more than Denny's! Jim, I can send you a 20% off coupon at Luby's for dining in on Monday or Tuesday nights. When you visit us, try our new Angus Chopped Steak!

Thanks Pearl, I mostly know Boni from this board, as I have been one of its biggest supporters since the beginning. (You might have heard that Luby's was a co-sponsor of NeilCon 2005 and contributed 2 tubs of our world-famous mashed potatoes and gravy!) But it's nice to meet you, and all the other great folks that make this board one of the very best that the web has to offer. I post on hundreds of message boards on the internet, and Boni's is one of my very favorites. Pearl, to celebrate your new job as Moderator, I would like to share some 20% off coupons for you for your next visit to Luby's. Be sure and try our Mushroom Chicken Madeira, or if you're more of a "seafood person", I'd recommend our famous Luby's Fried Fish. And of course, you simply must finish the night off with a slice of our Classic Cheesecake. Mmmmmmm....Luby's! If you have any questions about our menu, ingredients, or locations, I'm happy to answer them for anyone on this board. I'm at your service! -Dona Ana
