Neil Hamburger is scheduled to perform just one headlining show in Melbourne, Australia this February. The Toff, Second Floor, Curtin House, 252 Swanston Street, Melbourne, Victoria. Hopefully there will be lots of fans there and I look forward to hearing his classic jokes and hopefully some new gems. I will be there for sure. IF ANYONE (IN AUSTRALIA) SEES ANY INTERVIEWS IN THE PRESS, PLEASE POST THE DETAILS. Last time he was here he did two interviews in entertainment newspapers and they were hilarious !!!. My wish is that one year soon (or every year) Neil performs a SERIES of shows at the world famous Melbourne Comedy Festival in April. Two weeks at this high-profile festival should raise his profile through the roof. The festival kicks off with a televised gala...it would be great to see him on there. Even though it's on TV, he should be able to do 90% of his material...30% maybe. Melbourne fans, please get behind this idea !

Not long now until Neil returns to Melbourne and we get to see him here again. It's great that in many ways Neil is so young and hopefully will be around for many, many years to come. It will be great if he continues to tour Australia every year and we get to see him every year. It will be like Christmas, Easter and Neil Hamburger show. ...seriously. If Neil keeps going and grows in popularity, he will make more money of course. It may change his image...1 - He might be able to afford a good new suit, or a smoking-jacket. 2 - A monogrammed stirling-silver hip-flask, instead of the 3 or 4 complimentary drinks he has to balance all show long. 3 - Dare I say it ? ... a hair-piece. 4 - modern prescription glasses. 5 - Some medicine or medical help for his throat problems. We won't recognize him.

You are right, Sanders, if Neil gets too famous, we might not be able to recognize him You are right, Sanders, it's like a Holiday when Neil comes to your town!! He brings us better gifts than Santa Claus each year, the gift of Laughter, which has no monetary value, and can't be sold again for a profit.

...just a quick note to say that I joined a room full of rapturous fans at Neil Hamburger's exclusive Melbourne show last night, 23rd Feb 2010. It was easily the best show I've seen him do. He was at the very top of his game. Thanks Neil Hamburger ! I spoke to a well-connected gentleman named Gregg over by the merchandise stand and I am hoping he will look up Sandersgirls and perhaps make himself known when he gets the chance. I will write more about the show later.

...look me up...and down, to assess if I cross that fine line between fan and stalker. ...Neil very kindly signed and inscribed about 15 Neil Hamburger merchandise items for me last night. I hope Neil understands that I am a Neil Hamburger fan and a 'COLLECTOR'...and hopefully he is cool with that. ...also, I hope Neil understands that some fans can actually become a little star-struck...even if they don't want to be. Neil signed and dedicated a Neil Hamburger doll each to my kids. I presented the dolls to the kids this morning...and my (normally) hardy young lad burst in to tears. ...perhaps overwhelmed by the cool item that had been touched by the hand of Neil...or most likely he was simply frightened by it's appearance. Sorry Mr. Hamburger. Anyway, for any fans out there who don't have a Neil doll yet...do not hesitate. This will be the collectible of all collectibles. I assume it must be limited edition. It really is a great item. I have 3 now. One for the good room and two for the kids to play with. I actually told Neil about the ideas on these boards for a pull-string version etc ...and he said that other ideas had been considered...but cost and designing it ruled it out. He added that even this one was hard to make. ...all I can say is that if the fans snap these dolls up and encourage Neil...plus line his pockets with our cash...then there would have to be a better chance of the deluxe, adult pull-string version in the future.

On Tuesday night we went to Toff in Town in Melbourne, Australia to see Neil Hamburger's exclusive Melbourne show. He was ABSOLUTELY hilarious. He was "on fire". Obviously I am a big Neil Hamburger fan, but this show was special. ( In fact, I'll go so far as to say that his previous show in Melbourne at The Northcote Social Club was a little flat. ...but that would have been in part because it was a big room and smallish and unreceptive crowd.) ANYWAY, he opened with "Jug Town" from "Country Winners". ...to be honest, it can take me a while to keep up with Neil and his art. I am still not sure what to make of "Country Winners"...however, the fact is, that "Jug Town" is a catchy song and I really enjoyed Neil Hamburger's version. (...but I don't know if I was meant to...) Then Neil did a full show of gags. Of the first 10, I think about 8 were new or I hadn't heard them. ...anyone seeing him in the near future...look out for the David Carradine joke...it's an absolute classic. He had the whole crowd in stitches for the whole show, nothing fell flat. Even the long story about the incident where his merchandise got contaminated. WHEN YOU READ A BIO OF NEIL HAMBURGER, YOU READ ABOUT "ANTI-HUMOR" AND "BAD TIMING" AND ALL THAT...THERE WAS NONE OF IT THIS TIME. IT WAS ALL GONE...JUST NON-STOP LAUGHS, GREAT TIMING AND A FLAWLESS PERFORMANCE...AND FRANKLY I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF HE'S NOT DEPRESSED ANYMORE. So maybe Neil Hamburger has "sold out" from his original values as a performer/act. ...but for keeping me and a room full of attendees in stitches and totally entertained for a whole show...he is forgiven !

Punters are the people who took a punt to attended the show and were rewarded with a classic set.

Well Joe, you can Google it, but a "punt" is a bet, a wager, a gamble. A "punter" is someone who places those bets, wagers and gambles. In Australia we call people in bars or in the audience of shows like Neil's, "punters". ...and going to see a show, especially a comedian, you are taking a punt, a gamble...because they mightn't be funny. Like I said, these punters were rewarded with laughter. Hearty belly laughs. And lots of them. JOE, You are a comedian...can you share any jokes ? ...a sample of your material ? I'd like to hear. Post a couple of your classics.
