the first (and last) time i heard Left for Dead in Malaysia, I sat and cried. I sat on the couch with a beer in my hand through the whole damn thing. And I never sit all the way through anything because I suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder for Adults.

I recently took possession of a rare copy of Left for Dead in Malaysia - Platinum Edition DVD. A limited edition of just 300 specially packaged copies of Neil Hamburger's cinematic masterpiece. Does anyone else have it ? For anyone who doesn't know. It's a Platinum (colored) metal box, with a movie-still of Neil pasted to the top of the box. Inside is the DVD, a mosquito coil and a flyer for the movie, showing Neil's travel Visa (which has been denied) and a small image of a small amount of Malaysian pesos... ...anyway, the DVD is the key element. It's WONDERFUL. The disc includes a commentary track from Neil himself with all the behind the scenes information. It is hilarious, as you would expect. There are extras on it like his 7-11 song and a bonus of two episodes of a cartoon featuring America's Funnyman, from the year 2000 !! Another extra is a number of story-board drawings for the movie. It's a great item and I can understand why it has taken me years to get hold of a copy. ...only 300 copies makes it hard, but I am sure that most owners would not want to part with their copies of this classic. Quite seriously, I can see the package being worth a couple of hundred if it comes on the market in years to come. Mine won't be for sale however. It's quite a coincidence that although this movie is semi-fictional ... Neil Hamburger WAS Left For Dead .....at The Reading Festival, late last year.

Hi Boni, good to know you are one of the chosen 300 fans, with this magnificent DVD masterpiece. I think your dog should be okay after eating the mosquito coil...I imagine the coils would protect against worms and fleas, as well as internal mosquitoes. It's just a shame that your platinum edition isn't complete any more.

:(Hi, I was wondering if, now that Malaysia is back in the news, Neil will be re-issuing this on 180 gram vinyl, for the collectors, those awaiting the terror attack from this missing plane

Board, I think Neil's show in Malaysia went better than this search for an airplane. Perhaps the man with the eye patch was involved in its disappearance.

Maybe Neil is a bit of a prophet. Although by almost all reports the poor passengers seem to have been left for dead OUT of Malaysia...maybe Neil knows something we don't ? If the authorities try to interview Neil, he should just say "come to one of my shows and buy the DVD, I'll even autograph it for you". ...maybe that's where Art Huckman ended up ? ...on the plane or hi-jacking it. Anyway, I agree Neil should re-release it, perhaps on vinyl with the supurb original recording on one side and then a moment of silence on the other side, same is he did for Princess Diana.
