I just experienced one of the most awesome shows I have ever seen in my life. Recently, I attended a Melvins concert at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The heaviness of the Melvins experience makes Cannibal Corpse sound like Britney Spears. Pure magic, awe and inspiration. Not to mention persperation. I've seen the Melvins in concert 5 times and I think this was the only time a pit started. 22 years of playing, $17 a ticket for this show, and a plethora of great bands to open for them like the monsters Big Business, Altamont and Porn makes for an unforgettable night in the city of homos. After the show, they played "Homo Rainbow" by Ween on the speakers, and that was just the cherry on the cake. Much due respect and love goes out to the Melvins from me. P.S. Vicoden and Pabst Blue Ribbon is a winning combo! Some songs to enjoy from my shitty band here. And here.

Today, Bristol-Myers Squibb, the pharmaceutical monolith that charges nearly $1000 for a 30 day supply of one of its HIV/AIDS medications, is donating $1 to the National AIDS Fund for each person who simply visits their website and "virtually lights a candle." Please, please take a minute to "light a candle": www.lighttounite.org/

Yeah, Boni! I saw that show, too -- we didn't know each other at the time, bust I wish we did. I was able to get back stage that night, and I went after the Melvins played to go say "Hi" to Neil -- but then the promoter told me that as soon as Neil got off of stage he got paid and left to get a head start on a long drive to his next show somewhere in the midwest. I was so sad.
