the food there is pre-digested which is easier on the old peopleses gums. it's also because luby's is often the sight of mass-murder which is more ok if it's all old people because they were about to die anyway.

My cousin saw Neil Hamburger at Luby's in Albuquerque, New Mexico about 3 years ago. He was in the bathroom, throwing up into the trash can (seriously!!!). He was sweaty, and he said Neil's skin looked clammy.

All this talk of Luby's has made me hungry! Here's something I think we can ALL enjoy! For more information visit www.lubys.com Luby's Cafeteria Butternut Brownie Pie From Luby's 50th Anniversary Cookbook 4 extra large egg whites, at room temp 1/8 teaspoon baking powder 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar 14 graham cracker squares, broken in 1/2-inch pieces 1 cup pecan pieces 1 cup heavy whipping cream 1/2 teaspoon vanilla chopped pecans, for garnish 8 servings 1 hour 30 mins prep 1. Preheat oven to 300°F. 2. Lightly grease or spray with cooking spray a 9" pie plate. 3. In large mixing bowl, beat egg whites and baking powder until soft peaks form. 4. Add cream of tartar, beating constantly. Add 1 cup of the sugar, a tablespoon at a time, beating constantly until stiff peaks form. 5. Using a rubber scraper, fold in graham crackers and pecan pieces. 6. Spoon into pie plate. 7. Bake 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. 8. Cool completely on wire rack. 9. In chilled small bowl using chilled beaters, beat cream just until it begins to thicken. 10. Add remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and vanilla and continue beating until stiff peaks form, taking care not to overbeat. 11. Top pie with whipped cream. 12. Sprinkle with pecans and refrigerate until served.

I made this the other night Dona Ana, it wasn't all that great. In fact, personally I would rather eat skunk shit with vomit sauce.

Dear Kweef, Luby's does not currently have a vegetarian lasagna on its menu. There simply wasn't enough demand! However, keep an eye on our menu for seasonal specialties. I do have this recipe which you might enjoy, as it is very similar to a lasagna, and completely vegetarian. Mmmmmm....enjoy! Luby's Cafeteria Macaroni and CheeseThis is a classic favorite of all of the Luby's Cafeteria customers. 2 cups dry elbow macaroni (8 oz.) 1-2 tablespoon nonfat dry milk powder 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted 1 1/4 cups boiling water 3 cups American cheese, shredded (12 oz.) 1/4 teaspoon salt 1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. 2. Heat oven to 350º F. 3. In a large bowl, mix dry milk, flour, and butter. 4. Gradually add boiling water, beating constantly. 5. Add 1 1/4 of the cheese and continue beating until smooth and creamy. 6. Stir in macaroni, 1 cup of the remaining cheese, and salt. 7. Transfer to lightly greased 2-qt baking dish. 8. Cover with foil. 9. Bake 25 minutes. 10. Remove foil. 11. Sprinkle with reamining 1/2 cup cheese. 12. Continue baking 1 minute or until cheese melts.
